Impact the Valley 2024
Join us for Impact the Valley 2024 where Teens Opposing Poverty volunteers unite to make a difference and transform lives in the Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
About Impact the Valley
In 2004, Impact the Valley was born when a handful of youth group leaders were brainstorming ideas for ministry opportunities. The next summer we held our first home repair mission camp. Since then, hundreds of volunteers have worked on over 160 homes belonging to low-income families. Youth groups come together one week out of the summer for service, worship, and fellowship. They have a chance to make new friends, not just with other youth, but with the people they serve.
Impact the Valley 2024
Impact the Valley (Impact) 2024 will be held Sunday, June 23 – Friday, June 28, 2024 in the Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The area we serve includes the City of Winchester, Frederick County, Clarke County, and Warren County. We spend 4 days repairing the homes of low-income families in the region, and gather for worship in the evenings.
Who Can Attend?
Impact is open for rising 6th graders through adults. Most of our volunteers are youth groups. For youth groups, we require a minimum of one adult chaperone per 5 youth. Adults can participate in multiple ways, including site supervision, running materials, helping with food preparation, or participating as a volunteer on a work site.
What Does It Cost?
Many of our volunteers will stay in lodging that we provide. This year, we will be staying in dorms at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. The registration fee is $275 for the week. Scholarships are available for those who can’t afford the fee.
We also have an option for those who live in the area and prefer to go home each evening. The fee for non-overnight volunteers is $100. We provide 3 meals per day and T-shirts for all volunteers. Those who serve as site leaders and material runners participate for free.

Group Registration Form
All groups, whether or not they are staying overnight, must submit the Group Registration Form by May 24. On the form, there is a place to provide an estimate of the number of people in your group.
This does not have to be exact, and we ask that, if you have to guess, please keep your estimate on the high side. Along with the group registration form, there is a nonrefundable deposit of $50 for each volunteer. The deposit is applied to your total balance for the group.
You can access the form HERE.
